Data-Driven Solutions for Mobility

ITNAmerica’s service model is grounded in research and committed to advancing data-driven solutions to improve transportation for older adults and people with mobility challenges. ITNAmerica also engages in research to advance our understanding of the transportation habits and challenges of older Americans and people with visual impairments and other mobility challenges.

Research is directed at areas including access to healthcare, social isolation, and transportation policy.  With decades of operational experience and one of the most robust research infrastructures in the field, ITNAmerica supports evidence-based planning, policy, and innovation.

ITNAmerica brings together research, policy and practice under one roof, creating a forge for change, where the time and distance between innovative ideas, research, data collection and practice in the field is continuously accelerated. ITNAmerica invites research collaboration with industry, academia and research institutions.

  • ITNRides Designed and developed by experienced, nonprofit volunteer transportation providers for nonprofit, volunteer transportation providers, ITNRides is unique in the field because it also integrates a 178-field database for transportation research, reporting, and nonprofit marketing. With more than 1.6 million rides recorded, and growing every day, ITNRides is used by the CDC for transportation research.
  • Rides in Sight The largest and most detailed national database of all transportation services for older adults and people with mobility challenges, Rides in Sight is continuously updated by a team of trained researchers assisted by an AI driven web crawler. With more than 10,000 transportation providers and 40 fields of useful information on every listing, the Rides in Sight database is used by the CDC for transportation research.
  • 50 State Policy Project A free, searchable, online database with all state policies that impact nonprofit volunteer transportation, the 50 State Policy Project will be available soon.

These resources inform original research conducted by ITNAmerica and its collaborators, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Federal Transit Administration, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and leading universities and philanthropic institutions. ITNAmerica’s data has been used to support transportation planning, inform public policy, improve health outcomes, and expand mobility access nationwide.
